as demonstrated in the figure. If necessary, loosen

the balance weight and move it so that the lid just
closes. The metal strap, which forms the attachment
for the lid, can be loosened and twisted so that the lid
opens in the desired direction, see arrow in figure part
A. Do not pull the screw too hard, the lower half of the
cylinder can be deformed!
Install a valve , TAV 50 or TAV 100, according to

4. TAV 50 (left figure) is suitable for airflows up to
400 m3/h, while TAV 100 (right figure) is required for
flows up to 600 m3/h, which is the maximum flow al-
lowed. Connect pipe (or hose) to the KSA70 inlet and
to the vacuum valve outlet.

expensive.
Figure
5: If only one suction point is connected and the
diameter of the suction hose is 38 mm, 50 mm or 63
mm (1.5"-2.5"), TAV 50 PC can be controlled directly
from a pneumatic 3/2-valve at the worksite. An AS-set
can be fitted to TAV 50 PC for automatic start/stop of
the suction plant.
Figure
6: If two suction points are connected, the dia-
meter of the suction hoses is as above and only one
suction point is used at one time, then control of TAV
50 PC can be made via a dual input pneumatic valve.
The dual input valve has two input ports for two al-
ternative air signals, but it has only one output port
which can be connected to TAV 50 PC. Both suction
points mustbe fitted with vacuum valves of type KV
50 or TAV 50 MA. If flap valve KV 50 is used, the hose
must be removed after use. TAV 50 MA only needs to
be closed with a hand lever. An AS- set can be fitted
to TAV 50 PC for automatic start/stop of the suction
plant.
Figure
7: If the suction hose is larger, Ø 63-Ø 100 mm
(2.5"-4"), the vacuum valve must be TAV 100 2PC. This
can be controlled directly from a pneumatic 5/2-valve
connected as the figure shows.
Figure
8: If more than two suction points are con-
nected before KSA70, TAV 100 2PC MV 24 V AC/DC
must be used. In addition, a control unit is required,
connected as per the figure. All vacuum outlets must
be equipped with a vacuum valve (KV 50 or TAV 50
MA) and all valves must have an AS-set with a mi-
cro-switch.
6 Maintenance
See
Figure
9. Every six months (or more often if the
suction reduces) the top should be lifted off and the
perforated cap attached to the underside of the top
should be inspected (left figure). Rags and other
debris can get caught on the cap and choke the air
flow.

When the top is removed, the wear insert can also be
inspected (right figure). However, thorough inspec-
tion demands that the wear insert is lifted out. Note
that the toggle fasteners must be removed. If the
wear insert is worn, or there are tear holes, it must
be replaced. The design of the insert is critical. Even
a very small deviation from the correct shape causes
poor separation of cutting fluids.

7 Spare Parts
CAUTION! Risk of equipment damage
Use only Nederman original spare parts and ac-
cessories.
Contact your nearest authorized distributor or
Nederman for advice on technical service or
if you require help with spare parts. See also
www.nederman.com.
7.1 Ordering spare parts
When ordering spare parts always state the following:
• The part number and control number (see the
product identification plate).
• Detail number and name of the spare part (see
www.nederman.com/en/service/spare-part-
search).
• Quantity of the parts required.
8 Recycling
The product has been designed for component mater-
ials to be recycled. Different material types must be
handled according to relevant local regulations. Con-
tact the distributor or Nederman if uncertainties arise
when scrapping the product at the end of its service
life.
