The liquid is aspirated into disposable tips attached to
the pipette shaft (Fig. 1E).
Note! Disposable tips ensure maximum safety and
eliminate possibility of cross-contamination of the
liquid samples.
To protect the user from contaminated tips the pipette
is equipped with a built-in tip ejector, (Fig.1D).
The construction of the ejector enables the user to adjust
its length. The adjustable tip ejector accommodates
every variety of tips available on the market. When using
narrow tubes, it may be necessary to remove the tip
ejector.
Tip ejector disassembly (Fig. 5A) for 2-1000 μl pipettors
To remove the tip ejector press the tip ejector button and
turn the ejector cap clockwise to the very end and next
slide from the arbor.
Tip ejector assembly (Fig. 5B) for 2-1000 μl pipettors
When the tip ejector button is pressed pull the tip ejector
on the shaped end of the arbor to the very end and next
turn counterclockwise until it is latched.
Adjusting of the Tip Ejector Length (Fig. 5C)
for 2-1000 μl pipettors
Adjust the tip ejector length by turning the ejector cap
after removing the ejector pushbutton. To lengthen the
tip ejector turn the ejector cap clockwise. To shorten the
tip ejector length turn the ejector cap counterclockwise.
Adjusting of the Tip Ejector Length (Fig. 6A) for 5000
and 10000 μl pipettors
The length of tip ejector is regulated by screwing in or
screwing out the tip ejector stem with a screwdriver. Turn
the screwdriver counter-clockwise to increase the length
of tip ejector, and clockwise to reduce the length of tip
ejector. The ejector can be adjusted in the range of 5 mm.
If above described method of ejector adjustment is not
sufficient or the diameter of the ejector opening is too
large to dispose the tip it is necessary to put the ejector
cap "M" onto the ejector, (Fig. 6B).
The pipettor is a high quality instrument, which offers
excellent accuracy and precision. The figures for accuracy
and precision given in the following table were obtained
using VWR tips. These figures are only guaranteed when
VWR tips are used.

These specifications are obtained in forward mode, using
a gravimetric method with the temperature of the distilled
water, tips and all other conditions stabilized between
19°C and 21°C. Number of measurements - minimum 10.
The values given include all components of error due to
both normal hand warming and the changing of the tip.
Performance tests: The pipettor is calibrated based on
EN ISO 8655. Performance can be verified by checking
the pipettor using the procedures outlined in the EN ISO
8655 standard.
Setting the volume
The volume display consists of three numbers and is
read from top to bottom. The three numbers indicate the
volume selected and are colored black and red.
For the VWR2 to VWR200 μl pipettors, the numbers in
black represent microliters and the numbers in red repre-
sent tenths and hundredths of microliters.
For the VWR1000 to VWR10000 pipettors, the numbers
in red represent milliliters and the numbers in black
represent hundredths of milliliters.
