Checking function
After assembly, check the leak-tightness of the suction route and the function of the SILENT flow sensor.
♦ The SILENT flow sensor is connected to a socket.
♦ The green operating indicator (9) lights up
♦ The yellow indicator for the defined threshold value lights up (5, 6, 7).
⇒ Switch suction on
♦ The green operating indicator begins to flash.
♦ The yellow indicator for the defined threshold value lights up.
⇒ Close part of the suction mouth with your hand so that the flow rate drops below the defined threshold
value
♦ After a short time, the indicator for the corresponding threshold value starts to flash.
♦ The warning tone is output after approx 30 seconds
⇒ Pay attention to noises that could indicate leakage
⇒ Release the suction mouth again and continue to suction for approx 30 seconds
♦ The indicator for the corresponding threshold value lights up steadily
♦ The warning tone is no longer output
⇒ Switch off the extraction unit.

Operation
5.1
Operation
If the SILENT flow sensor detects a flow rate at the suction point, the green operating indicator flashes
slowly (9, Fig 1)
As long as the flow rate is higher than the defined threshold value, the corresponding indicator remains lit
up (5, 6, 7, Fig 4)
If the flow rate is less than the defined threshold value for a certain period, the corresponding indicator
begins to flash and a warning tone is output every 30 seconds.
If the flow rate is too low at the suction point being monitored, safe operation is no longer guaran-
teed and the level of exposure to dust can be harmful to health!
In this case, the following measures must be taken:
⇒ Stop working at all suction points of the affected extraction unit. This applies to the individual suction
channels of any multi-workbench extraction unit as well as to all suction points operated via a Y-junction
or via extractor switches
⇒ Determine why the flow rate is too low and resolve the issue.
Suction level is too low.
In the case of multi-workbench extraction units: the
suction power is too low because an additional suc-
tion channel has been connected.
Filter blockage
Changing the filter bag / cleaning the filter do not
result in the expected improvement.
Blockage in the suction point (suction mouth).
Cause
- 9 -
Measure
• Choose a higher suction level
• Stop working with the additional suction channel
• In the case of extraction units with a pre-filter (filter
bag): change the filter bag. When doing so, observe
the instructions and the safety information for the cor-
responding extraction unit
• In the case of extraction units without a filter bag: clean
the filter.
• Change the fine filter.
• When doing so, observe the instructions and the safe-
ty information for the corresponding extraction unit in
order to ensure that changing the fine filter results in as
little dust as possible
• Disconnect the suction hose at the suction point and
check whether there is a blockage in the suction point;
remove where appropriate
