Operating Instructions
For your own safety, before using this
equipment, read these instructions and the
accompanying safety booklet carefully and
Caution
Before plugging the unit into the power socket, check the following;-
Voltage
The voltage on the rating plate must be the same as that of the supply.
Switch
The trigger switch must be in the OFF position.
Tool
Select appropriate blade for the material to be cut (see RIDGID cata-
logue).
"Quick Change" blade clamp
Caution
Disconnect saw from power supply before installing blades.
1. Ensure shaft is fully extended and pull guide shoe forward (Fig. 1).
2. To open blade holder, rotate release collar counter-clockwise as
viewed from the front of the saw (Fig. 1a).
3. Insert blade fully and allow the release collar to rotate clockwise to
lock the blade in place.
Replace blade when worn.
Operation
Hold saw firmly with both hands as shown (fig 2). Pull on the trigger to
start and to vary the speed (fig 3). Use low speed for metal and high
speed for wood.
Orbital action
Set "ON" for fast cutting (fig 4a). Set "OFF" for precise cutting and when
starting to cut metal (fig 4b).
Guide shoe
The pivoting guide shoe (fig 5) acts as a rest while cutting.
Do not attempt to plunge cut metal.
Do not operate the saw with the guide shoe removed.
Do not overload the saw by forcing the blade
into the work. Excessive pressure will wear
the blades faster and may damage the saw.
