u) Examine the chuck regularly for signs of wear or damage. Have damaged parts repaired
by a qualified service centre.
v) ALWAYS wait until the drill has come to a complete stop before putting it down.
w) On completion of the work, disconnect the tool from the power source and remove bit
from the tool.
x) Periodically check all nuts, bolts and other fixings and tighten where necessary
Even when used as prescribed it is not possible to eliminate all residual risk factors. Use with
caution. If you are at all unsure of the correct and safe manner in which to use this tool, do not
attempt to use it.
Safety instructions when using long drill bits
a) Never operate at higher speed than the maximum speed rating of the drill bit. At higher speeds,
the bit is likely to bend if allowed to rotate freely without contacting the workpiece, resulting in
personal injury.
b) Always start drilling at low speed and with the bit tip in contact with the workpiece. At higher
speeds, the bit is likely to bend if allowed to rotate freely without contacting the workpiece,
resulting in personal injury.
c) Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit and do not apply excessive pressure. Bits can bend
causing breakage or loss of control, resulting in personal injury.

Intended Use
Portable light duty corded power drill suitable for drilling a wide range of materials, including
masonry when using the hammer mode function.
Not intended for commercial use.
The tool must ONLY be used for its intended purpose. Any use other than those mentioned in this
manual will be considered a case of misuse. The operator, and not the manufacturer, shall be liable
for any damage or injury resulting from such cases of misuse. The manufacturer shall not be liable
for any modifications made to the tool, nor for any damage resulting from such modifications.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your product. Fully familiarise yourself with all its features and functions
• Ensure all parts of the product are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or
damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this product

Before Use
WARNING: Ensure the tool is disconnected from the power supply before attaching or changing
any accessories, or making any adjustments.
WARNING: Always use this tool with the Auxiliary Handle (16) fitted. Using without the handle
fitted may result in personal injury.
Installing the auxiliary handle
1. On the Auxiliary Handle (16), rotate the hand grip anticlockwise to loosen (Fig. I)
2. Slide the Auxiliary Handle over the Chuck (1) and Chuck Collar (3) onto the drill then tighten the
Auxiliary Handle by rotating the hand grip clockwise (Fig. II)
IMPORTANT: Ensure the Auxiliary Handle is not tightened onto any moving parts of the tool
before use.
Installing & setting the depth gauge
1. On the Auxiliary Handle (16), rotate the hand grip anticlockwise to loosen
2. Slide the Depth Gauge (13) into the Depth Gauge Slot (15) (Fig. III)
3. Adjust the Depth Gauge to the required drilling depth; the end of the Depth Gauge to the end of
the drill bit will be the drilling depth
Note: The Depth Gauge has a small blank section before zero to allow for the tip of the drill bit.
Always take this into consideration when calculating the drilling depth.
4. Rotate the hand grip clockwise on the Auxiliary Handle to secure the Depth Gauge in position.
Installing/removing drill bits & accessories
• This drill is equipped with a 1.5-13mm Chuck (1) for use with standard shank drill bits and accessories
• To attach a drill bit or accessory:
1. Hold the drill securely and insert the Chuck Key (14) into one of the Chuck Key Holes (2),
ensuring the teeth on the Chuck and Chuck Key interlock (Fig. IV)
2. Rotate the Chuck Key anticlockwise to open the jaws on the Chuck (Fig. V)
3. Insert the drill bit or accessory into the jaws (Fig. VI)
4. Rotate the Chuck Key clockwise to close the Chuck jaws and secure the drill bit or accessory in
position (Fig. V)
5. Remove the Chuck Key
6. Check the drill bit or accessory cannot be removed from the Chuck, and carry out a test run under
no load to ensure correct alignment (Fig. VII) before attempting to use this tool (see 'Switching
ON & OFF')
IMPORTANT: ONLY the shank of the drill bit or accessory should be gripped by the Chuck. If
necessary, loosen the Chuck and reposition the drill bit or accessory correctly.
• To remove a drill bit or accessory:
1. Insert the Chuck Key into one of the Chuck Key Holes
2. Rotate the Chuck Key anticlockwise to loosen the Chuck jaws
3. Remove the drill bit or accessory
4. Remove Chuck Key from Chuck
Operation
WARNING: ALWAYS wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection
when working with this tool.
WARNING: As the drill bit penetrates the workpiece, it may 'catch' or 'snag'. This can cause the
tool to suddenly 'kick'. Prevent any possibility of injury by always holding the drill securely, using
the Auxiliary Handle (16) and Main Handle (10), and using sharp drill bits.
WARNING: Always ensure the workpiece is secure. If appropriate use a vice or clamp to hold the
workpiece, and always keep two hands on the drill.
Hammer drill mode selection
Note: Hammer drill mode is to be used for drilling masonry and concrete.
1. Slide the Hammer/Drill Mode Selector (4) to the hammer
2. Do not attempt to move the Hammer/Drill Mode Selector while the drill is switched ON
3. Do not attempt to operate the drill with the Mode Selector in a mid-position
Rotary drill mode selection
Note: Rotary drill mode is to be used when drilling wood or metal.
1. Slide the Hammer/Drill Mode Selector to the drill position (Fig. VIII)
2. Do not attempt to move the Hammer/Drill Mode Selector while the drill is switched ON
3. Do not attempt to operate the drill with the Mode Selector in a mid-position
Direction control
WARNING: NEVER change the direction of rotation while the tool is running. This may cause
permanent damage to the tool.
• The direction of rotation can be set using the Forward/Reverse Switch (6) (Fig. IX)
• Set the Forward/Reverse Switch to the required position
