Bosch Toolbox
– Then select the MyTools or Connectivity sub-item in the
app.
– The display of your mobile device shows you all of the
subsequent steps required to connect the power tool to
the mobile device.
In conjunction with the Bluetooth® Low Energy
module GCY 42, the following connectivity functions are
available with the Bosch Toolbox app for the power tool:
– Registration
– Personalisation of Favorite working mode (performance
and behaviour)
– Tool settings (e.g. dust extraction runtime, worklight
parameters)
– Status check, output of warning messages
– General information
– Management
Read the corresponding operating instructions for informa-
tion about the Bluetooth® Low Energy Module GCY 42.
The smartphone symbol (28) lights up if the power tool
sends information (e.g. a temperature warning) to a mobile
device via Bluetooth® wireless technology.
Deactivating the connectivity function
With the Bluetooth® Low Energy Module, the power
u
tool is equipped with a radio interface. Local operat-
ing restrictions, e.g. in aircraft or hospitals, must be
observed.
Note: The cover (15) can only be securely closed if the
Bluetooth® Low Energy Module and the coin cell are situated
in the power tool.
– To deactivate the Bluetooth® Low Energy Module, turn
the coin cell over or place a means of insulation between
the coin cell and Bluetooth® Low Energy Module.
– Close the cover (15) to prevent dirt from getting in.
Practical Advice
Setting the drilling depth (see figure M)
You can use the depth stop (21) to set the required drilling
depth X.
– Press the button for depth stop adjustment (19) and in-
sert the depth stop into the auxiliary handle (20).
The fluting on the depth stop (21) must face downwards.
– Insert the SDS-plus application tool into the SDS-plus tool
holder (3) to the stop. Otherwise, the movability of the
SDS-plus drilling tool can lead to incorrect adjustment of
the drilling depth.

– Pull the depth stop far enough out that the distance
Android
between the drill bit tip and the edge of the depth stop
corresponds to the required drilling depth X.
Overload clutch
If the application tool jams or snags, the power trans-
u
mission to the drill spindle will be interrupted. Always
hold the power tool firmly with both hands to with-
stand the forces this may create and adopt a position
with stable footing.
Switch the power tool off immediately and remove the
u
application tool if the power tool becomes blocked.
Switching on when the drilling tool is blocked may
cause high torque reactions.
Rapid shut-off (KickBack Control)
– To switch the tool back on, release the on/off switch
(12) and then press it again.
Vibration damping
Do not continue to use the power tool if the damping
u
element is damaged.
Inserting screwdriver bits (see figure N)
Only apply the power tool to the screw/nut when the
u
tool is switched off. Rotating tool inserts can slip off.
A universal holder (38) with SDS-plus shank (accessory) is
required to work with screwdriver bits.
– Clean and lightly grease the insertion end of the shank.
– Insert the universal holder into the tool holder while turn-
ing it until it locks automatically.
– Check that it is locked by pulling the universal holder.
– Insert a screwdriver bit in the universal holder. Only use
screwdriver bits that fit the screw head.
– To remove the universal holder, slide the locking sleeve
(5) backwards and remove the universal holder (38)
from the tool holder.
Hanging up the power tool (see figure O)
You can use the utility hook (13) to attach the power tool to
a suitable suspension device.
– Briefly push the utility hook (13) towards the handle (11)
to release the locking mechanism. The utility hook will ex-
tend backwards by itself.
– Turn the utility hook to the side.
The rapid shut-off function (KickBack
Control) gives the user greater control
over the power tool and offers them bet-
ter protection than power tools that do
not have Kickback Control. If the power
tool suddenly and unforeseeably rotates
around the drilling axis, it will switch off,
the rapid shut-off indicator will light up
red and the worklight (18) will flash.
When rapid shut-off is activated, the
status indicator (29) flashes red.
The integrated vibration damping function re-
duces the generated vibration.
