An interactive menu and a rotary knob on the
front of the housing are used to operate the
switchgear, display the operating state, and signal
faults. The housing cover must not be opened
during operation!
DANGER due to electrical voltage!
When performing work on the uncovered
switchgear, there is a risk of fatal electric
shocks occurring. Only operate the switch-
gear with the cover closed!
2.5. Standards and guidelines used
The switchgear is subject to various European
directives and harmonised standards. Refer to the
EC declaration of conformity for precise informa-
tion about these.
Also, various regulations are used as a basis
for operating, installation and dismantling the
switchgear.
2.6. CE marking
The CE marking is attached to the rating plate.
3. Product description
The switchgear has been manufactured with
great care and is subject to constant quality con-
trols. Trouble-free operation is guaranteed if the
device is installed and maintained correctly.
3.1. Intended use and fields of application
DANGER - explosive atmosphere!
Pumps may not be connected within an explo-
sive atmosphere. There is a risk of fatal injury
due to explosion! Connection must always be
carried out by a qualified electrician.
The SC-Lift...FTS switchgear is intended for au-
tomatic control via a level sensor of two pumps in
alternating operation.
The switchgear may not be installed and flooded
in potentially explosive areas!
Intended use includes compliance with this man-
ual. Any other use is regarded as non-compliant
with the intended use.
NOTE
For automatic control, a level sensor must be
provided on-site.

The switchgear comprises the following main
components:
• Main switch: for switching the switchgear on/off
• Ammeter for displaying the current rated current
per pump
• Switch for selecting the required operating mode:
• Automatic mode
• Manual mode
• Off
• Control panel:
• LEDs for displaying the current operating state
(operation/fault)
• LC display for displaying the current operating
data and individual menu items
• Operating knob for menu selection and param-
eter input
• Contactor combinations for activating the indi-
vidual pumps in direct-on-line start-up including
thermal triggers for protection against excessive
current
3.3. Function description
The microcontroller-controlled switchgear is used
to control two single pumps with fixed speed
in alternating operation with level-dependent
switching.
Level measurement is carried out using a level
sensor which must be provided on-site. Level
measurement is carried out as a two-position
control, depending on the fill level, the pumps are
switched on and off automatically successively.
