Use
The oxygen content of the ambient air must not drop below the
following minimum values:
at least 17 vol.% oxygen in all European countries except the
Netherlands, Belgium and UK
at least 19 vol.% oxygen in the Netherlands, Belgium, UK,
Australia and New Zealand
at least 19.5 vol.% oxygen in the U.S.
In other countries, observe the applicable national regulations.
3.1.1
Special NIOSH requirements
In order to make sure that the correct facepiece size is used,
perform a fit test. The fit test is to be conducted in accordance with
the requirements outlined in the OSHA Respiratory Protection
Standard 29 CFR, Part 1910.134.
3.2
Before use
3.2.1
Fitting the respiratory filter
1. Lift the tongues on the cap and remove the cap (see Figure B).
2. Insert the particle filter into the receptacle of the mask. The collar
of the filter must lie evenly on the receptacle brim.
3. Place the cap correctly on the mask body (see Figure C).
4. Attach the mask to the mask body. To do so, push the 4 tongues
over the 4 ribs of the mask. Press the tongues firmly until they
snap in.
3.2.2
Donning the half mask
1. Pull the sewn ends of the harness up to the head harness.
2. Pull the other ends of the harness through the cap until the locking
hooks lie against the cap.
3. Close the locking hooks.
4. Place the lower harness around your neck (see Figure D).
5. Place the mask body over your mouth and nose (see Figure E-1).
