2.7.7 SCREEN-KEYBOARD (1)
ON-OFF switch
Pressing this puts the screen-keyboard functions into ACTIVE. A green light will
appear next to the button
Pressing it again, puts the screen-keyboard into "STAND-BY". A red light will
appear next to the button
ILLUMINATION button
Pressing this will switch on the illumination diodes (if they are off) or will switch
them off, if they are on.
This button works independently from the "ON-OFF" button.
TRACER ADJUSTMENT indicators
The left-hand light comes on when the tracer is touching the key.
The right-hand light comes on when the cutter is touching the key.
2.7.8 VERTICAL REGULATION OF THE TRACER (14)
A vertical regulation of the feeler should be done for each change of the cutter-feeler.
The display-keyboard has to be active in order to use the electronic vertical regulation system
of the tracer.
The following steps are for carrying out the vertical adjustment of the tracer:
• Block the cutter and the tracer in their corresponding tool holders Make sure that they are
well blocked and fully against the stop
• Block two equal keys in the clamps of the machine
• Remove the spring loading of the tracer (tracer blocked)
• Lower the head, until the cutter and the tracer rest on the keys situated in the clamps Then,
one of the following situations of lights will exist:
- BLUE LEFT If only the left-hand light comes on, this indicates that the tracer is touching
the key, but the cutter is not. Therefore, we have to turn the regulating wheel of the tracer
towards the left, until both adjustment lights are on.
- BLUE RIGHT If only the right-hand light comes on, this indicates that the tracer is touching
the key, but the tracer is not. Therefore, we have to turn the regulating wheel of the tracer
towards the right, until both adjustment lights are on.
- BLUE LEFT AND RIGHT This indicates that both the cutter and the tracer are touching their
respective keys. This means that the height of the tracer is regulated.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When doing this height regulation of the tracer, take into account the
type of key we are going to cut. If it is a WAVE key, apply a little more force to the head
activation lever (so no light of the visual force indicator comes on). On the other hand, if it is
a SECURITY / POINT key, both the blue regulation lights come on, at the same time that the
force indicator shows the ideal cutting force for security/point keys (for that, a little force has
to applied on the head activation lever).
3.- ENCRYPTION
3.1 ENCRYPTION PROCESS
• Switch the machine on using the mains switch located at the right-hand rear part of the
machine
• Activate the illumination by using the switch located on the screen-keyboard to improve the
visibility of a work area.
• Select the cutter and the tracer necessary for encrypting the key using the table included
in this manual
• Change the cutter and the tracer
• Momentarily block the carriage at the end of its run "Y" axis
• Block the original key in the left part of the jaw, and the key to be encrypted in the right hand
When blocking the keys, take the following details into account:
- KEY STOP It can be a "neck-stop" key (Fig. 4.A), or "point-stop" (Fig. 4.B).
- ADAPTOR You may need to use an adaptor for some very specific models of key
• Do the vertical regulation of the tracer
• Activate the systems to simplify the key-cutting work:
- TRACER: Activate or de-activate the spring loading of the tracer, according to the type of
key to be encrypted
- CARRIAGE: Activating the spring loading of the carriage or the blockage of the carriage in
"X" direction, may be interesting according to the model of key.

• Start the cutter, previously choosing one of the available speeds
• Carry out the encryption of the key Use the help of the "key-cutting force control" system in
the case of a security/point key
3.2 ENCRYPTION OF KEYS WITH STANDARD JAW
3.2.1 SE1L KEY
• Use the cutter-tracer F-3 / P-3
• Block the key in the jaw by making a "neck-stop"
• Block the tracer (de-activate the spring-loading)
• NOTE: After doing the vertical regulation of the tracer, slightly lower the tracer by turning
regulation wheel 5 points to the right Then, introduce the tracer into the wave of the blade
and block the head of the machine Then slightly raise the tracer so it does not drag the key
• NOTE: Enter by the centre of the wave without touching the sides, and in the second pass
enter by the right side and leave by the left side, without applying any pressure (only slightly
pressing the tracer)
• NOTE: To cut the side points use the cutter-tracer F-1 / P-1. Make a "neck-stop" Activate
the tracer spring-loading
See Fig. 5
3.2.2 HF42P15 AND YM22P15 KEYS
• Use the cutter-tracer F-11 / P-11
• Block the key in the jaw by making a "point-stop"
• Block the tracer (de-activate the spring-loading)
• NOTE: After doing the vertical regulation of the tracer, slightly lower the tracer by turning
regulation wheel 5 points to the right Then, introduce the tracer into the wave of the blade
and block the head of the machine Then slightly raise the tracer so it does not drag the key
• NOTE: Use the spring-loading system of the carriage
• NOTE: Make a first roughing down pass and then another finishing pass along all the
profile of the key design Do the mechanising from the point of key towards the head.
See Fig. 6
3.2.3 HF40P18 AND HF38P17
• Use the cutter-tracer F-11 / P-11
• Block the key in the jaw, using the adaptor AD-MM2.
- Position the adaptor on the jaw, making a "point-stop"
- Introduce the key into the adaptor
- At the same time that we fix the adaptor to the jaw, the key is blocked in the adaptor
See Fig. 7
3.2.4 JIS4P KEY
• Use the cutter-tracer F-11 / P-11
• Block the key in the jaw, using the adaptor AD-MJ.
- Position the adaptor on the jaw, making a "point-stop"
- Introduce the key into the adaptor, making a "neck-stop" against the plate that turns In this
position, block the key into its adaptor
• Block the tracer (de-activate the spring-loading)
See Fig. 8
3.2.5 TB1P5 KEY
• Use the cutter-tracer F-22 / P-22
• Block the key in the jaw, using the corresponding adaptor
Position and block the adaptors on the jaws
- When introducing the key, take care that it is completely flat, so the two cuttings are equal
• Block the tracer (de-activate the spring-loading)
• Introduce the tracer into the wave of a letter Block the head of the machine, and slightly
raise the tracer so that it does not heel against the adaptor
• Continue with the cutting
See Fig. 9
Read the code of the original key
•The original key has 6 cutting positions that are defined by letters: A, B, C, D, E and F, as
shown in the following diagram
• At each of these potions on the key, there are 4 different possible combinations (defined by
numbers), that are shown and listed below:
