Freezer Storage Advice
• Store fresh food in airtight boxes or wrap in bags or foil which are suitable for freezing.
• Do not allow frozen food to come into direct contact with unfrozen food.
• Pre-frozen food must be placed in the freezer as quickly as possible after purchasing.
• To prevent frost damage to fresh vegetables or fruits ensure they have been prepared correctly in
advance. For example, blanch and shock vegetables and then dry thoroughly.
• You must always follow the storage guidelines printed on all food packaging. These are the maximum
freezer storage times recommended at -18 ºC:
– Ice Cream
– Fish & Pork
– Bread & Cheese
– Meat & Poultry
– Fruit & Vegetables
