BCAUTION
Failure to check the air cleaner frequently if
the motorcycle is used in dusty, wet, or muddy
conditions can damage your motorcycle. The air
filter can become clogged under these conditions
and engine damage may result.
Always check the air filter after riding in severe
conditions. Clean or replace the filter as necessary.
Air filter removal
1. Open the saddle lock, remove the rear saddle 1.
2. Remove the screws 2, remove the cover 3.

5. Remove the filter 8.
Clean the air cleaner
Clean the filter as described below.
1. Carefully clean the filter of the air filter with
compressed air.
NOTE: Always blow air from the side of the filter with a
metal mesh. If air is blown from the other side, dust will
remain in the gap of the filter, preventing air from passing
through.
2. Clean the dust on the filter shell inside.
3. Reinstall the cleaned filter or new filter in reverse order
of removal. Be absolutely sure that the filter is securely
in position and is sealing properly.
