according to the wiring diagram (Fig. 2). The
grounding conductor is connected to the remain-
ing PE terminal.
SSM (terminals 7, 8, 9):
Connection for external collective fault signal,
potential-free changeover contact,
• min. contact load 12 V DC, 10 mA,
• max. contact load 250 V~, 1 A,
e.g. for connecting a horn, flashing light or alarm
switchgear (at potential-free input).
The contact is closed between terminals 8 and 9 in
the event of an alarm, when the voltage fails, or
when the main switch is switched off.
GL (terminals 3, 4):
Connection for float switch for switching the
pump.
HW (terminals 5, 6):
Connection for high water float switch, as well as
for forced switch-on of the pump.
WSK (terminals 1, 2):
Connection for the motor protection WSK (ther-
mal winding contact). The bridge installed at the
works is to be removed when the pump is con-
nected with the thermal winding contact with
cable.
• After the electric connections are completed, put
the upper part of the housing carefully on the bot-
tom part. Tighten the fixing screws again.
8 Commissioning
Before commissioning the pump system with the
EC-Drain LS1 switchgear, check all settings, such
as:
• voltage selection
• DIP-switch settings and the setting of the nomi-
nal pump current (see Section 6.2.3)
• follow-up time (see Section 6.2.4).
Direction of rotation check for (3~) version only:
• If the phase sequence is incorrect, there is an
acoustic signal as well as an optical display by the
flashing of all LEDs from right to left (running
lights) and the collective fault signal is active.
NOTE: To protect the pump from rotating in the
wrong direction, automatic start-up or switching
on by hand is not possible when the direction of
rotation check is triggered.
• In this case, the phase inverter in the CEE plug is
to be pressed in with a suitably sized screwdriver
and rotated by 180° (Fig. 3).

Inserting the rechargeable battery (accessory)
Danger! Danger of death!
When working on the open switchgear, there's a
danger of electric shock from touching the live
components.
The work may only be carried out by skilled per-
sonnel.
To insert the rechargeable battery, switch the
device so it's voltage-free and secure it against
being switched on again without authorisation.
• Insert the rechargeable battery in the provided
holder. Make sure the polarity is correct.
• Fasten the rechargeable battery with the enclosed
cable tie (Fig. 2, item 3).
NOTE: The rechargeable battery must be fully
charged at the time of commissioning or must be
charged for 24 h in the switchgear.
9 Maintenance
Maintenance and repairs may only be carried out
by qualified experts!
DANGER! Danger of death!
There is a mortal danger through shock when
working on electrical equipment.
• The system should be electrically isolated and
secured against unauthorised switch-on during
any maintenance or repair work.
• Any damage to the connection cable should
always be rectified by a qualified electrician
only.
If the switchgear is used in sewage lifting units,
maintenance is to be carried out by skilled person-
nel in accordance with EN 12056-4. The mainte-
nance intervals must not exceed:
• ¼ year in the case of commercial companies
• ½ year for systems in multi-family houses
• 1 year in the case of systems in single-family
houses.
• The system operator must make sure that all the
maintenance, inspection and installation work is
done by authorised and qualified personnel, who
have acquainted themselves sufficiently with the
system through a detailed study of the installation
and operating instructions.
• Carry out a visual inspection of the electric sec-
tion.
