Chest belt
The heart rate chest belt is used to count your heartbeat and transmit the data to the watch.
To wear the chest belt
1. Moisten the conductive contact plate on the inside of your chest belt with some drops of
water or a conductivity gel for ECG (sold at pharmacies) in order to ensure a good contact.
2. Adjust the elastic belt in a way that it sits strong but comfortable. If the chest belt does not sit
tight enough, you may obtain inaccurate readings.
3. Wear the chest belt on naked skin, avoid strongly haired zones of your breast.
4. Apply the chest belt some minutes before you start your training, in order to warm it up to the
temperature of your body.
The position of the chest belt has an important influence on its function. Therefore the contact plate has to be positioned
under the breast and the sender has to be positioned in the middle of the chest.
Watch
Transmission signal
The heart rate chest belt and watch have a maximum transmission range of about 62.5 centimetres (25 inches).
k Flashes, when the watch is receiving a signal from the chest belt.
The signal is weak – the watch heart rate monitor will only show "0":
•
Shorten the distance between the heart rate chest belt and watch.
•
Re-adjust the position of the heart rate chest belt.
•
Check the conductive pads are moist enough to ensure solid contact.
•
Check the batteries. If they are low or exhausted, the range may be less.
s If the watch is kept idle without receiving a heart rate signal for 5 minutes, the heart rate receiver will turn off.
