Defrosting the freezer
1. Defrost the freezer when the thickness of the layer of frost is around
We advise you to defrost the freezer when the appliance only partially loaded (or
empty).
To remove the frost, follow the instructions below:
1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Remove the frozen foodstuffs, wrap them in several sheets of newspaper and
keep then in a cool place.
3. Place an appropriate container under the drainage hole. Open the drainage hole.
During the defrosting, check regularly that the water does not spill out of the
container.
4. Leave the lid open until the ice starts to melt. You can speed up the defrosting by
remove the layer of ice carefully using a plastic spatula.
5. Once the defrosting is complete, dry the inside thoroughly. Close the cover. Close
the drainage hole.
6. Switch on the appliance.
7. Adjust the thermostat for a colder temperature and run the appliance for two or
three hours on this setting.
8. Put the frozen products back in the compartment.
The higher temperature of the frozen food during manual defrosting, maintenance
or cleaning are likely to reduce the storage life.
In the event of prolonged absence or non-use
Take the following precautions:
1. Switch off the appliance.
2. Disconnect the appliance.
3. Remove all food.
4. Defrost and clean the appliance and all the accessories.
5. Keep the lid open the entire time the appliance is not in use to avoid odours from
forming.
Important: if, however, you are unable to unplug and empty the appliance,
regularly check that it is working properly so that the food does not spoil in
the event of a power cut.
Changing the light (optional)
Any replacement or maintenance of the LED lamps must be completed by the
manufacturer, an authorized service agent or similar qualified person.
