Attention! Check the function of the brakes after mounting the bracket for the via GO on the wheelchair.
5. General information about the bracket for the control unit
The bracket for the via GO control unit is usually mounted on the existing brake lever of the wheelchair. For mounting separately
from the brake lever of the wheelchair or on a push bar, there is the optional accessory „Counter support control unit via GO".
Mounting the bracket of the control unit on the left side of the wheelchair is not intended: The control unit can also be operated by
left-handers, for example, if it is mounted on the right side of the wheelchair.
4.3 Adjust the screws of the push bars
The contact point of the via GO drive wheel must be located centrally between the
contact points of the drive wheels [8] of the wheelchair.
If the contact point of the via GO drive wheel is centered between the contact points
of the drive wheels [8] of the wheelchair:
• Tighten the screws of the push bars [7] with a torque wrench and a tightening
torque of 8 Nm.
C
If the contact point of the via GO drive wheel [8] is not centered between the
contact points of the wheelchair wheels:
• Loosen the screws of the push bars [7] with an Allen key.
• Move the screws of the push bars [7] until the contact point is centered between
the contact points of the drive wheels [8] of the wheelchair.
• Tighten the screws of the push bars [7] with a torque wrench and a tightening
torque of 8 Nm.
4.4 Check the height of the bracket and the secure fit of the drive unit on the
bracket
• Measure the distance H between the upper edge of the cross bar [6] and the floor.
The distance H should be 175 mm in the center of the bracket, tolerance: +/- 15
mm.
• If the distance H is within the tolerance range: Tighten the screws of the
holders [3] with a torque wrench and a tightening torque of 8 Nm.
• If the distance H is smaller than 160 mm or larger than 190 mm, correct the
distance (see chapter 3.2): Loosen the screws of the holders [3], bring the hol-
ders into one of the described positions and tighten the screws of the holders [3]
again.
• Attach the via GO to the bracket as described in the via GO operating instructions.
• Check that the via GO is correctly positioned on the bracket of the drive unit and
that the via GO is securely attached to the bracket (see the via GO user manual).
