Putting into operation
WARNING!
Risk of injury due to improper operation!
Improper operation can lead to injuries as well as damage to the device and its surroundings.
► Before putting into operation, it must be ensured that the contents of the operating instructions are known to the operating per-
sonnel and have been fully understood.
► The safety instructions and the intended use must be observed.
► Only adequately trained personnel may start up the system/device.
CAUTION!
Damage or functional failure due to incorrect connection!
An incorrect pneumatic connection can damage the type RPC positioner. Prevent ingress of dirt and moisture with any open connec-
tions.
► Before putting into operation, ensure correct pneumatic connection according to the diagram.
► Perform a function test upon putting into operation.
► To maintain the IP65/IP67 protection rating, connect the control air outlet that is not required to the free control air connection
of the actuator or close it with a sealing plug.
6.1
Automatic adaptation of the operating conditions (X.TUNE)
NOTE!
To adapt the type RPC positioner to local conditions, the X.TUNE function must be executed after installation.
WARNING!
Hazard due to change of valve position when executing the X.TUNE function.
There is an acute risk of injury when performing the X.TUNE function under working pressure.
► Never run X.TUNE while the process is running!
► Secure the system against unintentional operation!
CAUTION!
Incorrect supply pressure or connected operating medium pressure may cause the regulator to
maladjust!
► X.TUNE in any case at the supply pressure (= pneumatic auxiliary energy) available during subsequent operation.
► Preferably perform the X.TUNE function without operating medium pressure to exclude interferences due to flow forces.
NOTE!
To perform the X.TUNE, the type RPC positioner must be in the AUTOMATIC operating state (slide switch 4 = OFF).

NOTE!
If LED 1 lights up red after the X.TUNE:
► Execute X.TUNE again.
► Possibly perform a device restart.

LED 2 flashes at 5 Hz. The device is in the NAMUR state Function check, LED 1 lights up
orange.
If X.TUNE is successfully completed, the NAMUR state is reset. The changes are automa-
tically stored in the memory (EEPROM).
