MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
When servicing use only identical replacement
parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard
or cause product damage.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields
marked to comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do
so could result in objects being thrown into your
eyes resulting in possible serious injury.
WARNING:
Always release all pressure, disconnect from power
supply, and allow unit to cool to the touch before
cleaning or making repairs on the air compressor.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline,
petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc.,
come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can
damage, weaken or destroy plastIc which may
result in serious personal injury.
REPLACING GAUGES, QUICK-CONNECT
COUPLER OR SAFETY VALVE
See Figure 8, page 17.
Turn the air compressor off and disconnect the plug from
the power supply.
Drain the tank following the instructions in Draining the
Tank as stated in the Operation section.
Pull the pressure regulator knob straight up and remove.
Remove four screws securing the console cover. Remove
cover and set aside.
Using an adjustable wrench, remove the item(s) to be
replaced (gauges, quick-connect couplers, and/or safety
valve) from the regulator manifold.
Apply pipe sealant to new part(s) and then install new
parts on manifold. Tighten securely.
NOTE: If replacing gauges, make sure to orient new
gauges correctly for reading.
Reinstall console cover and replace screws. Tighten
securely.
Reinstall the pressure regulator knob.
