above every second. To tell you that a recording is in progress, the decimal point will flicker
slowly.
7.3 AUTOSTORE Recordings
The AUTOSTORE recording process carries out consecutive equivalent continuous level
measurements in an integration time programmable from between one second and one hour.
The duration of the AUTOSTORE recording may be programmed from between one minute
and one week (168 hours).
To begin an AUTOSTORE recording, the screen must be flickering (to indicate the end of a
measurement). Press the "Run/Stop" key [9] until "ASt" appears on the screen, as shown in
the following figure:
Once "ASt" has appeared, release the "Run/Stop" key [9]. The number associated with the
AUTOSTORE recording will appear on screen. The figure on the AUTOSTORE recordings
counter will automatically increase every time you carry out this process, and it differs from
those of the memory and recording counters. Next, the sound level meter will begin
measuring and, after each integration time period has lapsed, will store the equivalent
continuous pressure level; the frequency weighting (A or C); the date and time of the
beginning and end of each measurement; and the flat battery and overload indicators in the
memory. The AUTOSTORE recording process will finish automatically once the programmed
measurement time period has lapsed, and will add the statistics of the entire measurement
and the value of all the functions and their maximums during the period to the stored data.
The AUTOSTORE recording process may also be completed by pressing the "Run/Stop"
key [9].
The decimal point on the screen will flicker rapidly to tell you that an AUTOSTORE recording
is in progress.
During an AUTOSTORE recording, the value of the function chosen from the function
selectors [10] and [11] will appear on the screen.
7.4 Considerations
The memories, recordings and Autostore recordings are stored in the sound level meter's
internal memory and feature different counters (identifiers). The SC-20e may store up to
1,999 memories, 190 minutes of recording or 114,660 Autostore recordings (31 hours of L
measurements or 168 hours of L
at 168 hours, that is, 1 week).
When the internal memory is full, you cannot make any more recordings or store any more
memories, although the stored data may be recovered. In order to store more memories and
recordings, the sound level meter's internal memory must be erased. When this has been
done, all the counters will go back to 1. If the "Run/Stop" key [9] is held down when the
internal memory is full, first "run" will appear on the screen, and then the screen will start
flickering to tell you that the measurement is finished.
If the sound level meter's internal memory fills before a recording or Autostore recording has
finished, the recording will be interrupted, although the measurement will continue. When the
measurement has finished, the final result and the measurement statistics will be stored in
the memory. The sound level meter features an internal clock fed by a lithium battery, which
allows the time to be kept even when the 9V battery that works the meter has run out. The
lithium battery lasts an average of about 10 years. If it runs out, contact your nearest official
service technicians, who will change it for you.
