Hydraulic hoses
•
Clean the hose with luke warm water and a mild soap solution.
•
Check the hose for damage and leaks. Replace the hose if it leaks, has kinks, the reinforced cover
is visible or it has blisters or bulges higher than 1 mm. In case of doubt always contact the Holmatro
dealer who can assess the seriousness of the damage.
•
Replace the hose no later than 10 years after the date of manufacture, regardless of its use and
external appearance. The date of manufacture is part of the test code, the first 4 digits of the test
code specify the date of manufacture of the hose (yymm*****).
8.5.5
Check the cutter blades
•
Check the blades for damage.
•
If necessary, grind off or file away any burrs that are visible on the cutting edge.
8.5.6
Lubricate the hinge points and blades without disassembling
Hinge points
•
Spray a small quantity of Teflon in the hinge areas and the hinge points while the blades are still
attached.
•
This is best done while the blades are opening or closing.
Blades
Refer to Fig. 9.
•
Remove the screw (3) in the cutter bolt.
•
Remove the cover ring (4).
•
Remove the toothed locking disc (5).
•
Loosen the castle nut (6).
•
Grease the blades through the nipple (8), using Molykote BR2 grease.
•
Install the castle nut (6) and tighten with a torque of 50 Nm.
•
Position the toothed locking disc (5) by rotating or to turn around the ring in such a way that:
-
The inside notches match with the teeth on the cutter bolt;
-
The outside teeth match with the crenels on the castle nut.
•
Install the cover ring (4).
•
Install the screw (3) in the cutter bolt.
8.5.7
Change the blades and lubricate the parts
Refer to Fig. 9.
Remove the old blades:
•
Remove the screws (1) in the hinge pins.
•
Remove the hinge pins (2).
•
Remove the screw (3) in the cutter bolt.
•
Remove the cover ring (4) and the toothed locking disc (5).
•
Remove the castle nut (6).
•
Remove the cutter bolt (7).
•
Now the blades can be taken away including the sliding plates (9).
Lubricate the parts:
•
Clean and degreasing the cutter blades, cutter bolt and hinge pins.
•
Spray the indicated areas (Fig. 10/1) with Teflon spray only.
•
Apply a thin layer of Molykote BR2 grease to the indicated areas (Fig. 10/2).
Install the new blades:
