assembly.
PREPARING FOR OPERATION
1. Checktheheaterforpossibleshippingdamage.Ifanyis
found,immediatelycontactthemanufacturerat
800-251-0001.
2. Followallofthe"Precautions".
3. Fillthefueltankwithcleankerosene.Inextremelycold
weather,condensationmaydevelopinthetankanditis
recommendedthatatablespoonofde-icerbeaddedfor
eachgallon(3.78Liters)offuelinthetank.Whenfillingthe
heater,useatleast2gallons(7.57liters)offuel.Besure
heaterislevelanddonotoverfill.Useafunnelorcanwitha
longfillspout.
IMPORTANT: Before filling fuel tank the first time or after ex-
tended storage periods, drain the fuel tank of any moisture
or condensation.
4. Locateheateratasafedistancefromcombustiblematerials.
ModelsMH50KR&MH80KTRarenotsuitableforuseon
woodfloorsorothercombustiblematerials.Whenused,the
heatershouldrestonsuitableinsulatingmaterialatleast1
inchthickandextending3ft.ormorebeyondtheheaterin
alldirections.

ADJUSTMENTPROCEDURE
1.Fillfueltank.
2.Startheater.
3.Locatethepressureadjustmentscrewandpressuretap,
picturedabove,locatedonthebackofthepowerpack
assemblyandaccessiblebythehandleoftheheater.
4.Removeandtherubbercapoverthefuelpressureadjustment
screw.
5.Usingaflatbladedscrewdriver,turnthepumppressure
adjustmentscrew:
•clockwise
toincreasepumppressure
•counter-clockwise
Byusingtheinstalledpressuregaugeyoumayquantitatively
calibratethepressure.Themanufacturer'srecommendedpump
pressuresareinthespecificationschartonpage3.
6.Thedesiredqualitativeburnercharacteristicsarethatthenose
coneinthecombustionchambershouldbecherryredwithno
darkspotsandtheflameshouldnotextendbeyondthenose
cone.
Problem: Heaterdoesnothaveastrongconsistentflame.
Heatersmokesandspitsrawfuel.
Noseconedoesnotgetcherryred.
Adjustment:Pumppressureistoolow.
Turnadjustmentscrewclockwisetoincreasepump
pressure.
