4-5 TESTING THE BATTERY

The average battery life with an alkaline battery is 80 hours.
During operation of the clamp, the battery test is done periodically. If the battery
voltage drops below 7.2 V, the battery symbol is displayed; change it.
4-6 AC OR DC CURRENT MEASUREMENT
AC - Set the switch to A; the AC mode is selected automatically:
measurement in A AC RMS.
DC - Next press the AC/DC button to change to DC mode: measurement
in A DC.
Press the trigger to open the jaws of the clamp and enclose one conductor
only.
If necessary, use the secondary functions MIN, MAX, RANGE, HOLD.
NB: Zero reset on A DC
On DC mode, if the display is not at zero before a measurement, press the
DC zero button: automatic zero reset. Correction is possible up to ± 10 A.
4-7 MEASUREMENT OF AC OR DC VOLTAGE
AC - Set the switch to V; the AC mode is selected automatically:
measurement in V AC RMS.
DC - Next press the AC/DC button to change to DC mode: measurement
in V DC
Connect the red lead to the + terminal and the black lead to the COM terminal
and connect up in parallel to the circuit to test.
If necessary, use the secondary functions MIN/MAX, RANGE, HOLD.
