• The outer diameter and thickness of the accessory must be within
the range suitable for the power tool. Accessories of the wrong size
cannot be properly inspected.
• The size of the disc fasteners must be properly matched to the
spindle of the power tool. Wheels and flanges with mounting holes
that do not fit the power tool's fasteners will not be balanced, will
vibrate excessively and may cause loss of control.
• Do not use damaged discs. Check discs for chips and cracks before
each use. If a power tool or disc is dropped, check for damage and
fit an undamaged disc if necessary. After checking and fitting the
disc, position yourself and bystanders away from the plane of the
rotating wheel and run the power tool at maximum speed with no
load for one minute. Damaged wheels will usually disintegrate
during this test time.
• Use personal protective equipment. Use face shield, safety goggles
or safety glasses depending on the application. If necessary, wear
a dust mask, hearing protectors, gloves and an apron capable of
stopping small abrasive fragments or workpieces. Eye protection
must be able to stop flying debris generated by the various
operations. A dust mask or respirator must be able to filter out
particles generated during operations. Prolonged exposure to high
intensity noise can cause hearing loss.
• Keep bystanders at a safe distance from the work area. Anyone
entering the work area must wear personal protective equipment.
Fragments of a workpiece or broken wheel can fly off and cause
injury outside the immediate area of operation.
• Hold the power tool only by its insulated gripping surfaces when
carrying out operations where the cutting accessory may come into
contact with concealed wires or its own wire. Contact of the cutting
accessory with a live wire may cause exposed metal parts of the
power tool to become live and may cause the operator to receive an
electric shock.
• Place the line away from the spinning accessory. If you lose control,
the line could be cut or snagged and your hand or arm could be
pulled into the reel.
• Never lay down the power tool until the attachment has come to a
complete stop. A spinning wheel can snag the surface and pull the
power tool out of control.
• Do not run a power tool while carrying it by your side. Accidental
contact with a rotating accessory may snag your clothing and draw
the accessory to your body.
• Clean the vents of the power tool regularly. The motor fan draws
dust into the housing and excessive build-up of powdered metal can
cause an electrical hazard.
• Do not use the power tool near flammable materials. Sparks can
ignite these materials.
Discard warnings
Kickback is the sudden reaction to a jamming or snagging of a rotating
disc. Jamming or snagging causes a sudden blockage of the rotating disc,
which in turn causes a sudden, uncontrolled movement of the power tool
against the direction of rotation of the disc at the point of contact.
For example, if an abrasive wheel is jammed or pinched by a workpiece,
the edge of the wheel that enters the point of engagement may dig into the
surface of the material, causing the wheel to slide out or spring back. The
wheel may recoil towards the operator or the opposite direction,
depending on the direction of movement of the wheel at the point of
engagement. Abrasive wheels can also break under these conditions.
The recoil is the result of improper use of the power tool and/or incorrect
working procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking the
appropriate precautions given below.
• Hold the power tool firmly and position the body and arm to resist
recoil forces. Always use an auxiliary handle, if available, to ensure
maximum control of recoil and torque during start-up. The operator
can control the effect of the torque or recoil force if appropriate
precautions are taken.
• Never place your hand near a rotating accessory. The accessory
may bounce against your hand.
• Do not align the body with the rotating wheel. The recoil will cause
the tool to move in the opposite direction to the movement of the
wheel at the point of attachment.
• Take special care when working on corners, sharp edges, etc. Avoid
bumps and catching the accessory on obstacles. Corners, sharp
edges or bumps have a tendency to catch on a rotating accessory
and cause loss of control or recoil.
• Do not attach chains, saw blades, segmented diamond discs with
cut-outs wider than 10 mm or gear saws. Such accessories cause
frequent kickback and loss of control.
• Do not "jam" the disc or apply excessive pressure. Do not make cuts
deeper than recommended. Overloading the disc increases the
strain and susceptibility of it twisting or jamming in the cut slot and
the possibility of rebound or breakage.
• If the disc jams or stops cutting for any reason, switch off the power
tool and hold it stationary until the grinding wheel stops completely.
Never attempt to remove the wheel from the material while the wheel
is in motion, otherwise recoil may occur. Investigate the situation
and take corrective action to eliminate the cause of the disc
blockage.
• Do not restart the cutting operation in the workpiece without first
pulling the disc out of the material. Allow the wheel to reach full
speed and carefully re-insert the disc into the workpiece. The disc
may jam or bounce if the power tool is restarted in the workpiece.
• When cutting large workpieces such as panels or boards, use
additional supports to minimise the risk of pinching and kickback of
the blade. Large workpieces tend to sag under their own weight.
Supports should be placed under the workpiece near the cutting line
and close to the edge of the workpiece on both sides of the wheel.
• Take special care when drilling holes in existing walls, "from the
inside". A protruding wheel can cut gas or water pipes, electrical
cables or objects that can cause recoil.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DEVICE
Handheld tile cutter for cutting and processing terracotta and tiles. The
machine's area of application is renovation and construction work and
independent amateur activity.
OPERATION OF THE DEVICE
Before using the device
Before using a power tool, always check that the residual current device
(RCD) is connected to the power supply and test the RCD for correct
operation, unless the RCD is of the self-testing type.
Adjusting the cutting depth
• Ensure that the power tool is directed away from you.
• Loosen the locking catch on the depth guide.
• Hold the base plate flat against the edge of the workpiece and raise
the power tool body until the cutting disc is at the desired cutting
depth. Use the depth stop to determine the depth of cut.
• Press the locking catch (Fig. A).
Adjusting the cutting angle
The power tool can be adjusted to cut at any angle between 0° and 45°.
• Loosen the bevel locking screw on the bevel pitch plate at the front
of the base plate.
• Tilt the body of the power tool until the required angle is reached,
using the bevel scale as a guide (Fig. B).
• Tighten the bevel locking screw.
