INTERNAL THREAD
1. Determine the size of the drill using the table (see above) and make a hole with the appropriate
diameter in the workpiece.
2. Place the tap at right angles to the workpiece, in the hole and turn
into the hole. Oil or grease reduce resistance during cutting and improve chip removal.
3.
If the tap sticks, do not continue by force, but try to break the chips with gentle forward and
backward rotations instead.
4.
For through holes, end the cutting when no more resistance can be felt or, for blind holes, when
the tap makes contact with the end of the blind hole.
EXTERNAL THREAD
Die
1. Select suitable die, holder for die and when required reducing ring. Insert the die with or without
the reducing ring into holder and fasten it with fixing screws.
2. Place the tap on the workpiece and turn
resistance during cutting and improve chip removal.
3. If the tap sticks,
backward rotations instead.
4.
The cutting process is finished when the required thread
