Troubleshooting
SYMPTOM
Smoker takes excessive amount of
time to heat up (longer than 60-70
min)
There is a gap between the door and
the smoker when in use and door latch
has no more adjustment
Grease is leaking out of smoker
through door and legs
No smoke
No smoke at low setting
Temperature rapidly decreased, or
shut down after a few hours of use
Meat probe temperature does not
show on display
Screen displays the word door when
the smoker door is closed
Err 1
Err 2
Err 3
Err 4
Err 5
CAUSE
Smoker plugged into an extension
cord
Door not closed properly
Controller malfunctioning
Door alignment
Damaged door seal
Drip pan not in place
Excess grease or oil build-up in
smoker
Drain tube in back of smoker is
not draining
No wood chips
Not enough heat to induce
smoking
Internal wiring issue
Probe port connection
malfunction
Door switch malfunction.
Temp probe connection error.
Meat probe malfunction.
Smoker overheat.
Smoker unable to reach
temperature.
Meat probe temp above 225F.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Set smoker so extension cord does not
have to be used
Close door and fasten latch securely

Reposition so hole lines up with drain
hole in bottom of smoker
Clean smoker
Check drain tube positioning at back of
smoker
Add wood chips (See page 15)
Increase temp to 275° F for 8 to 10
minutes, or when woodchips begin to
smolder then reduce to desired low
setting

1. Reposition the door switch.
2. Check connection is fully seated.

2. Unplug controller from power supply,
wait 10 seconds and reconnect.

1. Turn off smoker.
2. Check for cause of overheat.
• Grease fi re.
3. Restart smoker.

1. Using protective gloves, remove meat
probe from smoker.
2. Unplug from controller.
3. Allow meat probe to cool.
