Stop the engine and disengage drive to attachment
- before refueling;
- before removing the grass catcher;
- before making height adjustment unless adjustment
can be made from the operator's position.

Reduce the throttle setting dudng engine run-out and, if
the engine is provided with a shut-off valve, turn the fuel
off at the conclusion of mowing.
IV. Maintenance
and Storage
Keepall nuts,boltsand screwstight to be surethe equip-
mentis in safe workingcondition.
Never store the equipment with petrolin the tank inside
a buildingwhere fumes may reach an open flame or
spark.
Allow the engine to cool before stodng in any enclo-
sure.
To reducethefire hazard,keepthe engine,silencer,bat-
tery compartmentand petrelstoragearea free of grass,
leaves, or excessivegrease.
Cheek the grass catcher frequentlyfor wear or dete-
doretion.

Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
•
If the fuel tank has to be drained, this should be done
outdoors.
Onmulti-bladed machines, t akecareasrotatingone blade
cancause otherbladesto rotate.
When machine isto be parked, stored or left unattended,
lower the cuffing means unless a positive mechanical lock
is used.

place wire where it cannot contact spark plug in
order to prevent accidental
starting when setting
up, transporting,
adjusting or making repairs.
