Storing the device
If the device is to be stored for more than 30 days then
it must be prepared for this. Otherwise the residual fuel
in the carburettor will evaporate leaving a rubber-like
deposit behind. This can make starting difficult and can
result in expensive repair costs.
1. Take the fuel tank cap off slowly to dissipate any pres-
sure in the tank. Carefully empty the tank.
2. Start the motor and let it run until it stops in order to
use up all the fuel remaining inside the carburettor.
3. Let the motor cool down (ca. 5 minutes).
4. Remove the spark plug
5. Feed 1 teaspoon of clean 2-stroke oil into the com-
bustion chamber. Pull the starter cord slowly several
times in order to coat the internal components. Re-
insert the spark plug.
Note: Store the device in a dry location and far away from
possible sources of ignition, e.g. stoves, gas hot water
boilers, gas driers etc.
Re-commissioning
1. Remove the spark plug
2. Pull the starter cord quickly in order to remove any
excess oil in the combustion chamber.
3. Clean the spark plug and check the spark gap is cor-
rectly set, or insert a new spark plug with the correct
spark gap.
4. Prepare the device for operation.
5. Fill the tank with the correct fuel/oil mixture. See fuel
and oil section.
Transport
If you wish to transport the device then empty the fuel
tank as explained in the „Storage" chapter. Clean the
worst of the dirt off the device with a brush. Remove the
guide handle as explained in the „Assembly" chapter.

Disposal and environmental protection

Should your tool become unserviceable or if you no
longer require it, do not dispose of it under any circum-
stances in your normal household waste, but rather in an
environmentally friendly manner. Empty the oil and petrol
tank carefully and take the leftover fuel to a collection
point. Please (also) take the tool to a recycling centre,
where the plastic and metal parts can be separated out
and sent for recycling. You can also obtain information
on this by contacting your local authority or city council.
