To install the blades
NOTICE:
To re-install or replace the
blade(s), be sure to assemble the parts
in the exact order in which they were
removed, especially ensuring that the
statements "THIS SIDE FACING GRASS"
on the upper blade and lower blade are
facing toward the outside.
7. Wear protective gloves.
8. Insert the two bolts into the upper
blade from the back side that states
"THIS SIDE FACING GRASS" and
then position the upper blade onto
the motor shaft (Fig. 17f).
NOTICE:
The diamond protrusion on the
bolts should be aligned with the diamond
hole in the upper blade (Fig. 17g).
9. Depending on your preference,
mount the chosen lower blade
onto the motor shaft (refer to the
chapter "SELECT CUT™ CUTTING
SYSTEM" in this manual). Fig. 17h
is illustrating the High-Lift Bagging
Lower Blade (not included).
NOTICE:
The diamond hole in the
lower blade should fit into the diamond
protrusion on the bolts.
10. Insert the metal rod to block the blades, install the washer and shaft bolt onto the
motor shaft and finger-tighten the shaft bolt CLOCKWISE. Tighten shaft bolt to
36-43 ft-lb (50-60 Nm) (Fig. 17j).
NOTICE:
If the shaft bolt rotates with the motor shaft during tightening, place another
metal rod into the smaller hole in the fan to act as stabilizer 2.
