Electrical connection
Incorrectly installed
DANGER
electrical components
Incorrectly installed electrical components can lead
to electric shock, short circuit, explosion and fire.
▶ Electrical components may only be installed and
brought into operation by a qualified electrician.
▶ Observe the applicable standards, regulations
governing electrical installations, fire safety
measures and accident prevention regulations.
This includes ensuring the correct wire cross-
section, and connecting the socket via a separately
fused power circuit.
▶ Only operate the Porsche Mobile Charger in
correctly earthed power supply systems.
Operation in unearthed systems (e.g. IT systems)
is not permitted.
▶ Protect sockets and plug connections from
moisture, water and other liquids.
▶ Do not use damaged components. Isolate them
via the pre-fuse and secure so they cannot
inadvertently be switched back on.
▶ Also pay attention to the Porsche vehicle and
charging equipment manuals.
Flammable or explosive
WARNING
fumes
Components of the Porsche charging equipment
can cause sparks and therefore ignite flammable
or explosive fumes.
▶ To reduce the risk of explosion, especially in
garages, make sure that the socket in the charging
pedestal is at least 50 cm above the ground.
Electrical connection
Instructions for electrical
connection
When the high-voltage battery is being charged
via the industrial socket/mains outlet, the electrical
installation may be loaded to its maximum capacity.
Follow these recommendations to ensure uninter-
rupted charging:
– Only install an industrial socket that conforms
to IEC 60309, which is suitable for the highest
possible electrical output of the domestic power
supply.
– Plan the electrical installation dimensions so
that the maximum rated current of 32 A is
continuously available to the socket/mains
outlet for charging the vehicle.
– Check whether the additional output needed
to charge a vehicle can continuously be made
available with the existing domestic power
supply.
