direction until a clear image is achieved. After you've set the side focus, you
can double check it by moving your head around from side to side behind
the eyepiece-the point of aim should not shift if the side focus is correctly
set.
MIL dOT ReTICLe (specific models only)
If your Elite scope has a mil-dot reticle, please see the "Using Mil Dot
Reticles" appendix near the end of this manual for details regarding its use.
dOA ReTICLe (specific models only)
Several Elite riflescopes have a version of Bushnell's DOA reticle (DOA 600,
etc.). Please refer to the special reticle document included with the scope
for more details, which is also available at:
www.bushnell.com > Service & Support > Product Manuals.
FIReFLY™ ReTICLe (specific models only)
How many times have you been able to see the buck, but could not
find your crosshairs? The reticle in selected models of Elite riflescope
use Bushnell's exclusive FIREFLY technology to give you a significant
improvement in your ability to see the crosshairs in low light. To use, simply
charge the crosshairs by shining a flashlight into the eye piece of the scope
for two minutes about one hour prior to dusk or dawn.
You can see the crosshairs glow by covering the front of the scope with
your hand and looking in, but the real test is seeing how it works at dusk.
For the first few minutes after being charged, the crosshairs will glow
brightly, but will then become black again. Once the light drops to where
the crosshairs would regularly disappear, the FIREFLY reticle will take on
a slight glow. If your crosshairs are still black and you can see them well
enough to shoot, it is not yet dark enough for the FIREFLY to be visible. If
you have a hard timing picking up the crosshairs, just move your head back
and forth and they will be easier to see. As it gets darker, the glow from the
crosshairs will appear brighter as the surrounding light gets dimmer.
CAUTION: Do not charge your FIREFLY reticle by pointing the scope at the sun, as you will burn
out the crosshairs just like you would on any riflescope due to the "magnifying glass" effect.
