4.13 Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt (GFCI)
The GFCI shuts off the power to the receptacle when a ground fault occurs in the
generator or to a piece of equipment attached to the generator. The GFCI should
be tested for proper operation every time the generator is used.
Normal operating state while the machine is on:


Testing the Perform the manual test procedure below before each

1. Turn the power on at the control panel.

2. Push the test button (b) in.



Note: Power to the GFCI receptacle should be off.
If the green LED power light remains illuminated, DO
NOT USE until the GFCI is replaced. Consult an
electrician for assistance.
3. Push the reset button in.


4.14 Operating the Choke Control
The choke control is used to provide proper fuel-air mixture when
starting the machine. If the engine is cold, close (I) the choke by
pulling out the choke control. Push the choke control in to open
(O) the choke, as the engine warms.
4.15 Engine Speed
Generators require a fixed engine speed to maintain the correct frequency and
voltage. Engine speed is controlled by a governor which automatically adjusts to
varying loads on the engine to maintain a constant speed of 3600 rpm. There is no
throttle control. Use the auto idle switch on the control panel to control engine
speed.

The green LED power light (a) is illuminated.
The circuit breaker (see Control Panel for your machine) is at the on position.
The green LED power light will illuminate and the
circuit breaker is at the ON position.
The reset button (c) should pop out.
The green LED power light should go off.
The red LED fault light (d) should be illuminated.
Manually reset the circuit breaker to ON, if needed.
A green LED power light will illuminate and the red
LED fault light will be off.
