Checking and Changing the Engine Oil
Checking the
Check the engine oil level daily before starting the engine. Add engine oil as
engine oil
required. See Technical Data for engine oil quantity and type.
Procedure
1. Place the generator on a level surface.
2. Clean the area around the dipstick tube (a) and remove the dipstick (b).
3. Wipe the dipstick clean with a clean, dry cloth.
4. Fully insert the dipstick into the dipstick tube.
5. Remove the dipstick to check the engine oil level (c).
6. Add engine oil if the engine oil level is near or below the minimum (MIN) mark
on the dipstick.
7. Pour engine oil slowly into the oil fill tube (d), checking the engine oil level
occasionally with the dipstick.
8. Fill to the maximum (MAX) mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill.
Changing the
Place the generator on a level surface.

Drain the oil while the engine is still warm.
Procedure
1. Remove the oil filler cap (e) and the drain plug (f) to
drain the oil.
Note: In the interests of environmental protection,
place a plastic sheet and a container under the
machine to collect any liquid that drains off. Dispose of
this liquid in accordance with environmental protection
legislation.
2. Install the drain plug.
3. Fill the engine with the recommended oil to the
appropriate level on the dipstick. See Technical
Data for engine oil quantity and type. Do not
overfill.
4. Install the oil filler cap.
