4. Connection of the local PC
Ingeteam provides the software tool INGECON SUN Manager for monitoring and configuring the inverters in the
installation, available on the Ingeteam website.
As PCs do not incorporate RS-485 ports, some kind of converter is needed to be able to connect the PC to the
RS-485 bus formed by the units. The converters supplied by Ingeteam are explained in detail in the Accessories
for communication via RS-485 manual.
Follow the steps indicated below to connect the local PC.
1.
Connect to the serial port of the PC.
2.
Create a new plant with the required name on the left-hand panel of the INGECON SUN Manager
software.
3.
In the right-hand communication configuration panel, select COM as the means of communication.
4.
Enter the port number in which you have connected the modem.
5.
Click on Connect.
6.
From the left-hand panel, add the corresponding device and assign it the modbus node configured in the
unit (see "2.1.3. Identifying inverters").
