Tips for the installation of extraction ducts
For optimum air extraction, the following rules must be strictly followed:
-
Keep the expansion tube short and straight.
-
Do not reduce the size or restrict the expansion tube.
-
When using the expansion tube, always install it tightly to minimise pressure loss.
-
Failure to follow these basic instructions will reduce the performance and increase the
noise levels of the kitchen hood.
-
All installation work must be carried out by a competent person or a qualified electrician.
-
Do not connect the hood ducting system to any existing ventilation system being used for
any other appliance, such as a heater pipe, gas pipe or hot vent pipe.
-
The angle of the expansion pipe bend must not be less than 120°; it must lead the pipe
horizontally or it must rise from the starting point and lead to an outside wall.
-
After installation, ensure that the kitchen hood is level to prevent grease build-up on the
end.
-
Ensure that the expansion pipe selected for installation complies with the relevant
standards and is flame retardant.
WARNING: for safety reasons, only use fixing or mounting screws of the same size as
those recommended in this instruction manual. Failure to install the screws or fastening
device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
