OPERATION
Induction Warmer Food Holding Tips
Hatco Induction Warmers maintain holding temperatures very
efficiently and effectively. However, ambient conditions, food
type, and other factors play a critical role in the actual food
temperature. Use the following tips to ensure proper and
consistent holding temperatures.
• Cover food with a lid and stir often, if applicable. Uncovered
food product will lose heat quickly due to ambient conditions
like room temperature and active air movement.
• Hold foods that are appropriate for the Induction Warmer.
A thick liquid product, like chili, that is held in a pan with a
lid and stirred frequently will hold temperature for longer
and much more consistently than uncovered fried chicken
pieces.
• Check food temperature regularly and make adjustments
to the temperature setting accordingly.
- Use the appropriate temperature setting for the type of
food being held. Cream-based sauces and thick chili
hold better at a lower setting. Fried and baked foods hold
better at the highest setting.
- When using cast iron or other "dry pans", start with a
lower temperature setting (setting one or two).
- When using chafing dishes with a water bath, start with
a higher temperature setting (setting three or four).
- When using a pan with an open lid, increase the
temperature setting by one or more as needed.

• The USB port is on the under-side of the unit, near the
front or on the back of the control panel on built-in units.
• For PCB updates, temperature setting
indicators 1, 3, and 5 will start blinking.
• For UI board updates, temperature
setting indicators 2 and 4 will start
blinking.
• When the update is successful and
complete, all five temperature setting
indicators will blink.
• If the update was not successful,
temperature setting indicators 4 and 5
will illuminate and remain solid. Perform
the above procedure again. If the updated continues to
be unsuccessful, contact Hatco for assistance.
4. If the update was successful, remove the USB drive and
the unit will restart.
