MODE SWITCH (9)
This switch is used to select either Stereo or Bridge mode of operation. Care should be exercised whenever
the Bridge mode is selected. Accidental selection of this mode could damage loudspeakers, particularly in
bi-amped systems. To select Bridge mode depress switch to the "in" position, to select Stereo mode the
switch must be in the "out" position. The Bridge mode will be covered in greater detail later in this manual.
SPS^M SWITCH (10)
This switch is used to either ENABLE or DEFEAT the SPS compressor. Normally, the SPS function should
be enabled to minimize the possibility of either or both channels going into clipping or overload. With SPS
defeated, a severe overload could cause the mains circuit breakers to trip as a matter of course.
IMPEDANCE SELECTOR PANEL (11)
This feature is provided for converting a 4 ohm load capability to a 70 volt line system. The panel must be
removed in order to change output impedances. Both channels can be independently converted, by simply
removing the respective wire to the lug above or below it. The selection wire actually changes electrical
"taps" on the specially designed power transformer which selects different "rail" voltages. This allows the
amplifier to drive 70 volt lines directly without an output transformer.
A
When converting the different impedances, two important facts must be considered: FIRST,
NEVER CHANGE THE IMPEDANCES WITH THE POWER APPLIED TO THE AMPLIFIER;
SECOND, DO NOT CROSS THE WIRES. Reconnect wires only to the lug above or below
its present positioning. As an extra precaution, make sure the amplifier mains are unplugged
from any outlet before removing this panel.
INPUT MODULE PANEL (12)
This feature is provided for more amplifier flexibility. A variety of input modules are also available for different
applications, including amp control and monitoring, using the optional ACI modules.
