Intended use
Mixing block for use with one flowmeter each (classic
or DigiFlow) for O
and Air to set O

tion therapy.
Getting started
WARNING
Check that device is in good working order be-
fore start-up.

Attach both flowmeters (classic or DigiFlow) to a
wall or device rail.

Screw the union nuts of the flowmeters to the
mixing block hand-tight.
NOTE
The threads of the mixing block are compatible with
the union nuts of the flowmeters. Check that the
mixing block is firmly positioned.

Perform a function check in accordance with the
instructions for use of the flowmeters.

Operation
The O
concentration is set by the flow ratio O
2
 Read off the values to be set from the mixing
chart, see example in chapter "Technical data".
 Set the flowmeter according to the values indicat-
ed (comply with the relevant instructions for use).
Operation in magnetic fields

Due to the very small amount of ferromagnetic mate-
rial they contain, the mixing block can be used in
magnetic fields, i.e., in the vicinity of magnetic reso-
nance scanners, only in conjunction with Dräger tube
flowmeters.
Do not exceed the 20 mT line during operation.
Cleaning and disinfection
WARNING
Risk of infection
Reusable products must be reprocessed. Oth-
erwise there is an increased risk of infection
and the functioning of the products may be im-
paired.
Comply with the hospital's hygiene regula-
tions.
Use validated procedures for reprocessing.
Reprocess reusable devices after every use.
Observe the manufacturer's instructions on
cleaning agents and disinfectants.
WARNING
Penetrating liquid may cause malfunction of or
: Air.

damage to the device, which may endanger the
patient. Only wipe-disinfect device surface and
make sure no liquids penetrate into the device.
WARNING
Risk due to faulty accessories
Even reusable accessories have a limited ser-
vice life. If there are external signs of wear, e.g.,
cracks, deformations, discolorations, or peel-
ing, exchange affected accessories.
Clean and disinfect the assembled mixing block as
specified in the instructions for use for the flowme-
ters.
Observe the hygiene regulations of the hospital.
Disposal of the medical device
When disposing of the medical device:
 Consult the relevant waste disposal company for
appropriate disposal.
 Observe the applicable laws and regulations.
