4. Installing Square Handles
Discard the thread protectors and apply a bead of plumbers putty
or other sealant around edge of escutcheons according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
Turn the escutcheons clockwise onto the valves until they contact
the finished wall.
Remove any excess putty.
Close the valves (hot = counterclockwise, cold = clockwise).
Partially install each skirt assembly onto the spline adapters, and
check the skirt alignment.
For further alignment, remove the skirt and reposition the spline
adapter until the skirt alignment is correct.
Install each skirt, and secure with a screw.
Snap the handle insert into each rubber insert holder.
Position each outer shell onto a skirt assembly.
Thread a skirt into each outer shell until tight.
