part of the plug is adapted to the power used by the appliance. In general, the use of
adapters or extension leads is not advisable' if this is necessary, they must be in accor-
dance with the safety regulations and their amperage capacity must not be less than
the maximum for the appliance.
• Before each usage, check that the appliance is in good condition and that the power
cord is not damaged: if in doubt, check with a professional, qualified technician.
• The mains socket must be easily accessible in order to disconnect the appliance with
ease in case of emergency.
• Position the appliance away from: sources of heat (e.g. open flames, gas ovens, etc.) de-
posits of liquids (e.g. sinks, etc.) to avoid falling into or splashing with water (minimum
distance 2 met re s) fabrics (curtains, etc.) or loose materials, which may obstruct the ven-
tilation grille; in addition, check that the front part is free of volatile materials (dust, etc.).
• The supporting surface must be stable flat and even (so that the appliance does not tip
over).
ASSEMBLY
1. Assemble the interior pipe (11), exterior pipe (13), the base (14) and the weight unit
(15), and then lock them by tightening the locking screw (16) together (Massachusetts
only) or tightening the washer (17) and "7" shaped screw (18) (Michigan only)
2. Put the motor unit (6) onto the interior pipe (11) and tighten the fixing screw (10).
3. Install the rear guard and then lock it by turning the rear guard nut (4) clockwise.
4. Insert the blade (3) into the motor shaft and fix it by tightening the blade fixing nut
(2) counterclockwise
5. Put the front guard (1) and rear guard (5) together and then fix them with fixing
buckles and safety screw sets provided (19, 20).
USE
a) Ensure voltage used corresponds with the voltage indicated.
b) Turn the speed control on the tube to selected speeds: 0 refers to Off. Speeds 1, 2, 3
refer to Slow, Middle, and Fast respectively.
c) Push down the oscillation switch (7), and the fan head rotates. Pull up the oscillation
switch (7), and the fan head stops rotating.
d) The direction of the air flow is vertically adjusted by tilting the fan head.
e) Never touch the blades with hand or any object!
f) Do not pull the cord too hard. If damaged after prolonged use, get it repaired by a
qualified electrician.
g) To clean: Disconnect the power cord from the mains. Remove the guard and the bla-
des carefully. Do not drop the blades! First use soft cloth with light soap to clean off oil
stains. Then wipe and dry with dry cloth. Never use polish or any corrosive liquid that
will damage the paint, metal or plastic! Put back the blades and lock the guard securely
before use.
