Basic functions
The device is used to test the function of PV modules from 12 to 60V DC and up to 800 watts max. and to determine all important
parameters. The maximum power, the MPPT voltage, the MPPT current and the open-circuit voltage are determined. (MPPT =
Maximum Power Point Tracking).
This innovative device continuously determines the optimum operating conditions in order to determine the maximum output of the
connected PV-modules under the current environmental conditions. The connection is made via the MC4 connectors.
The device has a manual and an automatic mode. In manual mode, one measurement is taken each time a button is pressed. In
automatic mode, measurements are taken continuously. The cooling time increases the more measurements are taken.
Please note that the measured values are highly dependent on the current weather conditions and that the
measured values may differ even if measurements are taken in direct succession. This can be due to various
reasons such as clouds or shadows cast on the PV-module being measured.
Connect plug
For battery operation, first insert the batteries before connecting the device to a PV-module.
Connect the MC4 connectors of the test device to the MC4 connectors of the PV module to be tested.
Switching on the device
Switch on the device with the batteries inserted by long pressing the
If no batteries are inserted, the device is switched on after connection to the PV module by long pressing

(approx. 5 sec).
Manual mode
A test is carried out once when the
measurement is started or the device is switched off. In battery operation, the last measured values remain fro-
zen after the PV module is removed. If no new measurement is started, the device switches off automatically
after approx. 15 minutes to save energy. The measured values are lost in this case.
A new measurement can only be started once the time shown at the bottom of the display has elapsed. The
time is variable and depends on the previously measured power. This function is used to protect the measuring
device against overheating. The more consecutive measurements are taken, the longer the cooling time. The
device cannot be used while the time is running down.
If a measurement is started without a PV-module connected, the following symbol is shown on the display.
Automatic mode
Press the
- button to start the automatic test mode . The time intervals between measurements always
depend on the previously measured power. This serves to protect the measuring device from overheating.
Automatic mode can be exited by pressing the
