Safety instructions
WARNING
Read these instructions carefully before use. If the device is not used in accordance with the manufacturer's instruc-
tions, the protection provided by the device may be impaired.
WARNING
Sources of danger include, for example, mechanical parts that can cause serious injury to persons. There is also a
risk to objects (e.g. damage to the appliance).
WARNING
Electric shock can lead to death or serious injury to persons as well as endangering the function of objects (e.g.
damage to the appliance).
WARNING
For safety and approval reasons (CE), unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the appliance is not permit-
ted. To ensure safe operation of the appliance, you must observe the safety instructions, warning notices and the
chapter "Intended use".
WARNING
Please observe the following instructions before using the appliance:
Avoid operating the appliance in the vicinity of electric welding equipment, induction heaters and other electro-
|
magnetic fields.
|
After abrupt temperature changes, the appliance must be allowed to stabilise to the new ambient temperature for
approx. 30 minutes before use.
|
At lower temperatures below 5 °C, the readiness of the voltage detector may be impaired. Please ensure suffi-
cient power supply by using suitable batteries that are also specified for the temperature range used!
|
Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures for long periods of time.
Avoid dusty and humid ambient conditions.
|
The voltage tester and accessories are not toys and do not belong in the hands of children!
|
|
In commercial facilities, the accident prevention regulations of the German Federation of Industrial Employers'
Liability Insurance Associations for electrical systems and equipment must be observed.
Please observe the five safety rules:
WARNING
|
A voltage detector with a relatively low impedance will not display all interference voltages with an original value
above ELV compared to the reference value of 100 k . On contact with the system components to be tested,
the voltage detector can temporarily reduce the interference voltages to a level below ELV by discharging; after
removing the voltage detector, however, the interference voltage will return to its original value.
A voltage detector with a relatively high internal impedance will not clearly indicate "operating voltage not pre-
|
sent" compared to the reference value 100 k if interference voltage is present.
|
If the "Voltage present" display does not appear, it is strongly recommended that the earthing device is con-
nected before starting work.
|
If the "Voltage present" display appears for a part that is considered to be disconnected from the system, it is
strongly recommended that additional measures (e.g. use of a suitable voltage tester, visual inspection of the
disconnection point in the electrical network, etc.) be taken to verify the "Operating voltage not present" status of
the system part to be tested and to establish that the voltage displayed by the voltage tester is present: Use of a
suitable voltage tester, visual inspection of the disconnection point in the electrical network, etc.) to verify the
"operating voltage not present" status of the system part to be tested and to establish that the voltage displayed
by the voltage tester is an interference voltage.
It is not permitted to use the supplied interchangeable test lead in combination with devices other than the prod-
|
uct described in these instructions.
