1. General provisions
The safety cabinet is state-of-the-art technology
and complies with recognised technical safety
regulations.
The safety cabinet carries the CE symbol, i.e.
the EU directives and harmonised standards of
relevance to the safety cabinet were applied during
design and manufacture. The fire-resistant con-
struction has been successfully tested in accord-
ance with EN 14470-1.
The safety cabinet must only be used in a techni-
cally flawless condition in the version delivered by
the manufacturer. For safety reasons, do not make
unauthorised modifications to the safety cabinet.
1.1
Safety
Each safety cabinet is tested for functionality and
safety before delivery.
When used as intended, the safety cabinet is safe
to operate.
Incorrect operation, failure to observe the safety
instructions or misuse may result in risks to:
•
the life and limb of the operator
•
the safety cabinet and other assets of the
operator.
•
the function of the safety cabinet.
As the operator of the safety cabinet, you are
responsible for ensuring that
•
all safety instructions are understood and
observed.
•
compliance with the applicable work safety and
fire protection regulations.
•
only instructed individuals operate the safety
cabinet.
•
the opening area of the doors is kept clear.
•
the doors are always kept closed.
•
the doors are locked with the keys provided to
prevent unauthorised access.
•
any hazardous substances that are leaking
out are immediately picked up and disposed of
properly.
This cabinet is not suitable for the storage of
containers containing aggressive chemicals (acids/
alkalis).

1.1.1
Maintenance and monitoring
The maintenance schedules proposed in these
operating instructions represent the absolute mini-
mum needed to ensure the safety and service life
of the cabinet under normal operating conditions.
Watch out for any malfunctions or potential safety
issues at all times during operation. In the event of
a malfunction, the safety cabinet must be taken out
of operation immediately!
Obligations of the user:
•
Compile the operating instructions and publish
them in an appropriate place in the workplace.
•
Carry out a risk assessment.
•
Identify activities of named personnel.
The safety cabinet must be regularly checked to
ensure it is in a safe condition. (see section 13).
This check shall include:
•
A visual inspection for damage (seals and door
closing mechanism, etc.)
•
Functional testing
•
Completeness/identifiability of the warning,
mandatory and prohibitory signs on the safety
cabinet
•
The prescribed maintenance work.
1.1.2
Using original parts
Only use original parts provided or recommended
by the manufacturer. Take note of all safety and
usage information provided with these parts.
This concerns spare and wear parts. For safety
reasons, making any modifications to the safety
cabinet is not permitted.
