13. Decommissioning after a fire
In the event of a fire:
•
Keep calm, leave the building and call the fire
department immediately.
•
A flammable gas-air mixture may have formed
inside the cabinet as a result of the fire. Re-
move all ignition sources within 10 metres and
only use non-sparking tools.
•
The cabinet must only be opened by qualified
personnel (the fire service) after a minimum of
24 hours have passed. Take extreme care when
opening the doors after a fire. Wear personal
protective equipment and have suitable extin-
guishing agents ready.
Important!
Do not open the cabinet if the cabinet
surface is still warm. The cabinet should
only be opened outside and by qualified
personnel (for example the fire service).
Opening the doors of the cabinet too
early within a building can cause fires to
spread and put lives at risk. In the event
of a fire, ensure that personal protective
equipment (PPE) is worn.
Do not reuse the cabinet if it has been damaged as
a result of a fire or the use of extinguishing agents.
