8 Operation
Risk of irreparable eye damage due to laser radiation
Direct or indirect laser radiation to the eyes can cause them irreparable damage.
► Only operate the device in a laser-safe environment (laser class 3R).

8.1 Providing sensor cooling and a compressed air supply
► Ensure that clean, dry, oil-free air or gas in accordance with ISO 8573-1 is fed into the hose
connections. Oil or water in the air supply damages the sensor optics.
► Use welding shielding gas or other cylinder gas. Alternatively, use air from a compressor providing this
is clean, dry and oil free.
► Set the air flow to 1 to 2 l/min.
8.2 Isolating the sensor head in the event of noise
The sensor system was designed for use in an electrically noisy environment. The control unit and all signal
cables are shielded. This offers protection against interference factors in the high frequency range, which
arise in an industrial environment.
► Do not wrap the camera cable around the high-voltage cable.
► If possible, lay the camera cable separately to the other low-voltage cables.
For the unlikely event that the system is impaired by electrical noise, it is necessary to ensure that the sensor
head is electrically isolated from the machines.
► Use a PTFE or DELRIN-based isolation bracket and ensure that the mounting screws are made from
plastic or fibrous material. If the mounting screws are made of metal, ensure that they are countersunk
and do not touch the sensor housing.
► Check that the sensor cable is grounded.
