1.0 User Controls and Display
1.1 On /Off Switch
To turn the unit on, depress the ON/OFF switch. The
unit defaults to CW (Continuous Wave) and 1310 nm
output on power up, this is indicated by the CW and
the 1310 nm LED illuminating. To turn the unit off,
depress the ON/OFF switch again.
1.2 CW / MOD Switch
Used to select the Laser output to either CW or 1 kHz
modulation. Selection is indicated by the illumination
of the appropriate LED. To change back to previous
mode, depress the CW/MOD switch again.
1.3 Wavelength (λ) Switch
To select the 1550 nm laser, depress the lambda
switch. Selection is indicated by the illumination of the
1550 nm LED. To change back to the 1310 nm laser
output, depress the switch again. Selection is
indicated by the illumination of the 1310 nm LED
1.4 LO BATT LED
This LED illuminates when the internal alkaline
batteries require replacement or NiCd/NiMH batteries
require recharging.
1.5 CHARGE LED
This LED illuminates when the external Mains
adapter is connected to the source indicating that the
rechargeable batteries are on charge. See section 3.0
for details.
