3.- OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
3.1 Assembly instructions.
After unpacking the machine, carefully check for damaged or
broken parts. If you find any damaged or malfunctioning parts,
replace them with original spare parts from the manufacturer
and contact RUBI's after-sales service.
1.
Save all the product's packaging as it may be necessary to
repack the machine in the future.
2.
The machine weighs 4.8 kg meaning that one person can
unpack it without further assistance.
3.
The machine comes assembled and ready to use.
4.
The vibration intensity can be adjusted mechanically by
means of the eccentric weights inside the motor. This
operation can only be performed by the authorized
technical service.
5.
The vibration value of the machine according to the UNE-
EN 62841.
UNE-EN 62841 : ah = 16.890 m/s2 , K=1.5m/s2, 90 dB
(A)/s2, 90 dB (A) was measured using a standardized
test method and may be used to compare one tool with
another.
The total declared vibration level can also be used for a
preliminary evaluation of exposure.
The vibration emission during actual use of the tool may
differ from the total declared level, depending on how
the tool is used.
The safety measures to protect the operator must be
identified based on an estimation of exposure in the
actual operating conditions (taking into account all parts
of the operating cycle, such as when the machine is
turned off and when it is running with no load, in addition
to start-up time).
Preliminary checks:
6.
Verify that the voltage of the power supply matches
the voltage and frequency specified on the machine's
characteristics tag. (5)
7.
230 V machines may also be connected to 210V / 240V.
110V machines may also be connected to 100V / 120V. An
incorrect connection can damage the tool.
8.
The mains connection must be earthed and protected
against current leakage (differential). When using an
extension cord, make sure the cable cross section
measures no less than 2.5mm.
9.
For safety reasons, the on/off switch of the tool is
equipped with a safety button to prevent the machine
from turning on unexpectedly.
3.2 Starting the machine.
10. Ensure that the adhesive is fully distributed over the entire
surface area of the tile with no clumps, especially in the
case of thin tiles or ones that have complicated cuts.

11. Delayed-tack adhesives are recommended for large
format tiles.
Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations for
the material being used.
12. Keep your hands and the power cord away from the
cutting zone to prevent it from being snagged or tangled
on the piece being cut.
13. Place the machine in a suitable position on the floor
or wall, depending on the intended use, and hold the
vibrator with both hands by the handles (2) intended for
this purpose. Avoid holding the vibrator by other areas
which are not intended for this purpose, as this could
harm you or the device.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of serious personal injury,
hold the machine firmly to avoid losing control and
prevent potential kickback.
14. Once the tool is in contact with the work surface, start it
up by pressing the power switch (3) located on top of the
machine.
15. Press gently on the handles (2). The pressure makes the
vibration damping (7) act and the vibrations that pass to
the operator's arms are reduced to a large extent. (fig.1)
16. If you are working on a wall at a height, you must stand
on a completely stable support to ensure that, when
pressure is applied, the reaction effect of the device does
not cause you to lose your balance.
17. The base of the vibrator (8) allows it to slide smoothly
along the surface. It should always be kept clean. If
it gets damaged, it must be replaced with a new one.
Always replace with original parts.
18. When working with large tiles and/or insulating or
separating materials, slide the machine over the piece,
always from the centre to the sides, following the
direction in which the adhesive has been combed. (fig.2)
This will remove the excess adhesive and consequently
the air pockets.
19. Go over it several times until the piece is perfectly level.
20. Do not let the machine work in the same place all the
time, as this would lead to excessive sinking of the area
and could even break the piece.
21. For large format pieces, to check the effective adhesion
to the base once the job has been finished, it is NOT
necessary to remove a piece to check the setting of the
cement.
Disconnection:
22. When the job is finished, press the on/off switch (3) to
turn off the machine.
Remember that the cutter must be unplugged from
the power installation when moving from one work
zone to another and when carrying out adjustment and
maintenance operations.
3.3 Cleaning and maintenance.
WARNING! Unplug the machine before carrying out any
adjustments, repairs or maintenance.
Proper cleaning and maintenance of the machine can extend
its lifetime.
23. For optimum cleaning, wipe the machine with a damp
cotton cloth. In all cases, avoid the use of solvents
and certain types of cleaning agents with this type of
components.
24. Do not submerge the machine in water.
25. Examine the machine's cords periodically and if they are
damaged, have them repaired by an authorised technical
service.
26. Keep handles dry and clean and free of grease and oil.
