Before you call for service
Cause and Solut ion
When t he unit is stopped, it will not rest art again for 3 minutes to
protect t he system.
When elect ricit y is disconnected t hen reconnected, t he protect ion
circuit will be act ive for 3 minutes to protect t he heat pump.
During unit operat ion or a sudden stop, a swishing or gurgling
noise may be heard. The first 2- 3 minutes after t he unit has
st arted is when t he noise could be not iceable. This noise is
generated by refrigerant flowing in t he system.
During unit operat ion, a cracking noise may be heard. This noise is
somet imes generated by t he casing expanding or shrinking due to
temperat ure changes.
If t he airflow is creat ing a loud noise during unit operat ion, t he air
filter may be too dirt y.
The system circulates odors lingering in t he airst ream, such as t he
smell of furnit ure, paint , and/or cigaret tes.
During COOL or DRY mode, t he indoor unit may blow out mist or
steam. This is due to t he sudden cooling of t he indoor air.
In DRY mode, when t he room temperat ure becomes lower t han
t he set temperat ure by 2°F, t he unit will run intermit tent ly at LOW
speed regardless of SPEED set t ing.

Are t here any doors or windows open?
Is t here any direct sunlight shining t hrough t he window during t he
cooling operat ion?
Are t here too many heat sources or too many people in t he room
during cooling operat ion?
