Switching On and Off:
Fig. 3
The fret saw is started by pushing switch ©. For
jobs
of
longer
duration
the
switch
can
be
arrested with locking button.
Electrical Two-Speed Switch
for STSZ 350:
Fig. 4
On this two-fret saw the number of strokes can
be set to a lower or higher speed by means of
slide switch &. Switch can be operated when
machine is running.
Slide switch in position |: low number of strokes
Slide

Electronic Setting of Strokes
for STSE 350
Fig. 5
By turning the electronic regulator © the most
favorable number of strokes for the respective
saw blade and material can be set.
The
electronic
stroke
control
stabilises the
number of strokes under load to the extent that
the work always proceeds at an almost optimal
number of strokes. The most favorable number
of strokes and the best suited saw blade for the
material to be cut is shown in saw blade table.
Insertion of Saw Blade:
Fig. 6
Slide saw blade with shaft up to stop into saw
bar @ and tighten clamping screw © well.
Adjustment of Supporting
Roller:
Haf 1-8
After loosening hex socket screw D at bottom
of base plate, adjust supporting roller holder in
such
a manner
that the supporting
roller ®
rests against back o saw blade. Then tighten
screw
again well. The
supporting
roller will
prevent any yielding of saw blade towards the
rear.
Adjustment of Bevel
(Diagonal) Cuts:
Fig. 9
For bevel or diagonal cuts the base plate ® can
be tilted in both directions up to 45°. For this
purpose loosen hex socket screw " at bottom
of base plate, set base plate to desired angle in
accordance with graduated scale and tighten
screw again well.
Inside Cutouts:
Fig. 10
Cutting
into wood
without
predrilling
is no
problem, but requires some skill. For this pur-
pose, move
base plate into rearmost position
to provide a favorable cutting angle for inser-
tion, place saw with rounded front edge of base
plate on the work
and
push
machine
slowly
downwards.
For all other materials except wood, drilling a
Starting hole is recommended.
Use of Parallel Stop or Circle
Cutter:
Fig 11+12
Slide guide rod of parallel stop or circle cutter
(included in accessories) into bracket of base
plate, set to desired cutting width or radius and
tighten guide rod at bottom of base plate well
by means of countersunk screw.
The parallel stop and the circle cutter can be
used on both sides.
For circular cuts
move
sawtable
to rearmost
position.
Carbon Brushes:
The
tool
is
provided
with
circuit-breaking
carbon
brushes.
When
carbon
brushes
are
worn
out,
they
will
switch
off automatically
and thereby
prevent damaging
the collector.
Replacement of Carbon
Brushes:
To replace carbon
brushes,
loosen fastening
screws
of shell-type
housing
and
remove
upper half of shell.
Remove brush holders from lower housing half
and clean from carbon dust by means of com-
