POSSIBLE CAUSE
The appliance is not plugged in.
The appliance has not been turned on
by setting the preparation time and
temperature.
The appliance is plugged into an
outlet that is shared with other
devices.
The appliance is overloaded.
The temperature is set too low.
Some foods need to be turned during
the cooking process.
Foods of different sizes are being
cooked together.
Too much oil is being used.
Accessories have excess grease
residue from previous cooking.
Grease or juice is dripping onto the
heating element.
Wrong type of potato being used.
Potatoes not blanched properly
during preparation.
Too many fries are being cooked at
once.
Raw fries have too much water.
SOLUTION
Plug power cord into wall outlet.
Set the temperature and time.
Plug the appliance into a dedicated
power outlet.
Use smaller batches for more even
cooking.
Raise temperature and continue
cooking.
Check halfway through process and
turn food if needed.
Cook similar-sized foods together.
Wipe down to remove excess oil.
Clean the components and appliance
interior after each use.
The appliance needs to be cleaned.
Place the Baking Pan below the
Crisper Tray or Wire Rack when
cooking food with a high moisture
content.
Use fresh, firm potatoes.
Use cut sticks and pat dry to remove
excess starch.
Cook less than 2 1/2 cups of fries at
a time.
Dry potato sticks properly before
misting oil.
Cut sticks smaller.
Add a bit more oil.
