Problem
No function when ON/OFF Switch

Slow material removal
Scratches on workpiece after

Possible cause
No power
Defective ON/OFF Switch
Sanding sheet too fine or worn
Sanding sheet too coarse
Not enough material removed
Sanding sheet incompatible with material
Too much pressure exerted on to the sander
Vacuum dust extraction system not connected, or extrac-
tion system not switched on
Dust extraction not working; sanding sheet not aligned
with dust extraction holes in the Sanding Base; extraction
holes blocked
If the above troubleshooting solutions fail, contact your dealer or an authorised Silverline service centre.
Solution
Check power supply
Have the ON/OFF Switch replaced by an authorised Silverline service centre
Fit new sanding sheet with coarser grit
Fit new sanding sheet with finer grit
Continue sanding
Fit correct sanding sheet
Use less pressure whilst moving the machine
Check connection of the vacuum hose, and ensure dust extraction system is
switched on
Realign sanding sheet; unblock dust extraction holes
