Maintenance instruction – packing gland nut
In accordance with DIN EN 1626 the leakage rate must be less than 14 mm³/p. (in the case of combustible
fluids less than 10 mm³/p.). To achieve and maintain a lower leakage rate of 0.1 mm³/s, it is recommended
to tighten the packing glands of HEROSE valves after 50 cycles following installation to the torque corre-
sponding to the table using a torque wrench.

Remedy
Retighten the gland nut
Replace the packing gland
Replace the stem
Tighten the bolts to the specified torque
Replace seal
Remove foreign body / flush the system
Replace the body
Replace the cone
Replace the body
Loosen the gland nut
Tightness must still be ensured
Replace bonnet
Check energy supply to the actuator
Check limit switches
